Dear Parents,

As the new school year begins, the first thing we ask is that you trust us with your children.  We know it isn’t easy.  We do not want you to trust us only because of our education, experience, or reputation, but rather we want you to know our philosophy of teaching your children.

• We believe that children learn best in an environment where they feel loved and secure.
• We believe a child’s self esteem should be treated tenderly.
• We believe that children learn through both play and
  intentional instruction.

Each day is designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and to do so in a loving and nurturing manner. From the activities that are planned to the way the daily schedule proceeds, the selection of toys and materials to the organization of the environment, our goal is to help your child become an enthusiastic, lifelong learner.

We want your child to feel comfortable in school, make friends, and enjoy socializing at St. Mark’s Preschool.  We believe our school is the place where children can learn to make good and independent choices in a new setting. We want your child to experience pride and self-confidence, have a positive attitude, and develop independence and self-control.

We strive for the children to become confident learners. We do this by letting them try out their own ideas and experience success. We assist them in learning skills such as asking questions and using words to describe their ideas, feelings, and observations.

Everyday in the gym or on the playground the students are given the opportunity to increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do.
