Monthly Mission Focus – Good Samaritan Network
Good Samaritan Network (GSN) is a collaborative network of nonprofit organizations in Hamilton County. They help provide immediate financial support to assist families with food, rent, utilities, medicines, and other household needs and supplies. GSN serves our community directly and indirectly, aiming to provide a hand-up and opportunities for personal empowerment.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, GSN is committed to serving our network and individuals facing food insecurities, shelter and utility issues in our county. This is an emergency like we’ve never seen, full of uncertainty for our Hamilton County neighbors in need. Your gift will help them survive and assist during the pandemic and in the aftermath! GSN alone has sent out 100,089 lbs of food in only five weeks to 43 food pantries, and 3 backpack programs. Click here to learn more about GSN.
These donations are critical to repurpose items (FREELY) to Hamilton County families in need. The demand has been exaggerated even further due to the unprecedented job loss our county has experienced. The biggest shortage currently are toys and games for children ages 5-12. Like many of us, families are challenged to find safe and healthy activities during the current pandemic. Additional household items recommended for GSN clients are listed here.
Please use our contact free drop off donation bins, located inside Door #2, Monday – Friday, 9-4.
