St. Mark’s Welcome Coordinator
Part-Time, Non-Exempt | Estimated 8–10 Hours per Week Reports to: Executive Pastor

Position Summary
The Welcome Coordinator serves as a vital presence on Sunday mornings, supporting the church’s core value of radical hospitality. This person ensures that every guest, visitor, and member experiences a genuine sense of welcome and connection. By coordinating volunteers and supporting congregational engagement, the Welcome Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a culture of belonging, care, and spiritual growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Hospitality Leadership
- Greet and engage with guests and members on Sunday mornings, with special attention to new and returning visitors.
- Help guests navigate the church building, programs, and community life.
Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit, schedule, and train greeters, ushers, and café hosts for all Sunday services.
- Provide encouragement and feedback to ensure volunteers reflect the church’s values.
Sunday Morning Oversight
- Unlock and lock church doors before and after services.
- Monitor and support all hospitality areas throughout the morning.
- Respond to questions or needs from guests and members during worship times.
Connection and Follow-up
- Collaborate with pastors and staff to recognize attendance patterns and identify opportunities for care and outreach.
- Collaborate with Adult Discipleship Coordinator to ensure key milestones are provided for each newcomer, including connecting guests and members to church communications, Sunday classes, Life Groups, Children’s and Youth Ministries, and service opportunities.
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of name tags for guests, members, and staff.
- Assist with new member classes by providing welcoming, hospitality, and personal invitations as needed.
Worship Documentation
- Record attendance from Sunday worship services to allow for quick follow-up with new guests.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Adapt as needed to meet the evolving needs of the church’s welcome and hospitality ministries.

Schedule and Hours
- Required presence on Sunday mornings is a core function of this role.
- Estimated 8–10 hours per week, including preparation and communication outside of Sunday mornings.
