YOU DID IT!!!!!

YOU DID IT! We are so proud of you and in awe of your strength! Now is the time for rest and celebrating all you’ve achieved. May God watch over you and keep you safe as you make your way home. I can’t wait to see you both! With love, Melissa
Day 20/21/22 – Busy weekend!!

Karla’s ordination, Brian’s retirement, graduation parties, volleyball tournaments, oh my! It was a busy weekend! As you near the end of the walk, know how proud of you we all are!!
Day 19 – You are getting close!

You can do anything for xx miles! You can do anything! You are an amazing person doing amazing things! Keeping you close to our hearts today as you continue to walk!
Day 18 – when you move

This made me thing of the song Move – “When you move, When You move, darkness runs for cover. When You move, no one’s turned away. ‘Cause where You are, fear turns into praises. And where You are, no heart’s left unchanged.”
Day 17 –

There’s beauty in the blisters, grace in the gravel, and strength in your stride. Keep walking—God is walking with you. — Tish
Day 16 – Staff day – we miss you

Hey Jennifer
This past week the family went hiking in the Smokey Mountains. I made the mistake of jogging down a hill with Addie on my shoulders; my shins were wrecked for like two days. Made me think of you, and realize how weak sauce I’ve become compared to what you are doing! Haha! Hope you and Missi are doing well. Scott
Day 15 – May the road rise to meet you

Blessing from Ramie. There are so many people praying for you and holding you both up. I pray you feel it all and you are strengthened by it.
Day 14 – Let’s hear it for technology!

Putting our trust in God and thanking Him for technology! So thankful we were able to text today, that you were able to listen to the service from Spain and take part in Communion! How amazing technology can be for helping us keep in touch and encourage one another! Your pilgrimage encourages us so much! Thank you for being willing to trust in God!
Posting the band’s hello back to you here as well!

Day 13 – You can do all things through Christ

Praying that you are strengthened by God with each step. Our continued prayers are with you.
Day 12 – Let heaven and nature sing

Inspired by Missi’s comment – prayers that you continue to see God in every step! Looking forward to hearing all about it!
Day 11 – The Camino is in you!

By now, we imagine you are feeling this sentiment! You are doing it! It’s hard to imagine all that you are seeing, feeling, experiencing. We hope the pain you might be feeling in your bones is being drowned out by the sound of God in your hearts. Keep on going! You’ve got this!
Day 10 – Walk On

John 3 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (From Joyce)
Day 9 – Memorial Day

It was a beautiful day in Indiana this Memorial Day. A lovely Great Blue Heron stopped by my house to say hello. We hope you are seeing some lovely flora and fauna along your way.

Praying for you every step of the way!
Day 7 – just keep walking!

I am imaging myself with you….walking….feeling the cool air on my face…each vista and view better than the last. I can not wait to hear how ou are doing. We are praying for each step you take. You are climbing a mountain, in Spain! Amazing!
Day 3 – The Pyrenees Mountains
Today you start walking! We are with you in spirit. Drink it all in!

I’d like to share my favorite Bible passage from Numbers 6:24-25 which is also the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) benediction we said during our weekly meetings when I was a girl. (You’ll recognize it.) Hoping your journey is going well and cannot wait to hear all about it. With love, Ramie
Day 2 – It’s only the beginning

Have a great journey! Can’t wait to hear the stories.
Scott Melvin
Day 1 – Travel day

Praying your travel day is easy! We are thinking of you and praying for a great start! God is with you every step of the way. May you feel God’s presence and see God’s majesty!
Camino de Santiago – It’s almost here
Jennifer and Missi! We are so excited for you! We can’t wait to hear about your adventures. Please check in here each day (or when you have time) so that we can offer words of encouragement!

For those who don’t know what Jennifer and Missi are doing, here is a short description.
The Camino de Santiago, also known as the Way of St. James, is a legendary pilgrimage route in northwest Spain, leading to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. It’s believed to be the final resting place of the apostle St. James the Greater. The Camino has been a major Christian pilgrimage for over 1,000 years, attracting people from all walks of life for religious, spiritual, and recreational reasons.

Thank you so much for the words of hope and encouragement. God’s presence is felt in each bird singing, in the beauty of each wild flower, in the words of each new pilgrim, and in the strength that gives me endurance. Although miles separate us, we are continually connected. Much love, Missi
