MoJoJudo

Several years ago St. Mark’s UWF (formerly known as UMW) decided to, once again, host a craft fair. It was something they had done years before, but had stopped doing. As someone who always loved crafting, I had begun making a craft with LEGOS for my own grandchildren and for friends’ children and grandchildren. I decided to become a vendor (MoJoJudo) at that show in an effort to find more folks wanting my LEGO product. Shortly after that show, I changed the product I was making. I started making products utilizing preowned costume jewelry pieces creating theme and holiday trees and pictures.

During the last 11+ years, I have continued selling at various vendor shows throughout Hamilton and Marion counties. After the first show at St. Mark’s, I made the decision to donate 100% of my profits to 6 charitable organizations that my husband and I support.

I’ve loved the creative process and talking with folks at the shows. Unfortunately, as my husband (the “muscle”) and I have aged, the setting up and tearing down for the shows has become too difficult. Thus, I have made the decision to end my business this year. On to the next chapter…

Grandma Kitty’s Cupcakes and Cookies

Hello from Grandma Kitty’s Cupcakes and Cookies!
When I was preparing to retire in 2022, I was thinking about what that new chapter would look like. One of my favorite hobbies has always been baking since my grandmother taught me when I was around 8 yo. Another one of my hobbies has been going to the farmers markets and so I thought why not put these two hobbies together and have some fun by selling my baked goods at the markets.  The only thing I needed now was a name???  I’ve always baked with my grandsons since they were small and they’ve always called me “Grandma Kitty” because I have two kitties and so there it was, just like that!
I have always appreciated those folks that could create those beautifully decorated sugar cookies. I dabbled with making some at Christmas time, but I really was not that good. One day I sat down and watched many, many videos on You Tube on how to decorate these beautiful cookies. After a lot of practice and many failed decorated cookies, I got better and more confident in my talents so in June, 2023 I participated in my first farmer’s market and the rest is history.
This new endeavor has allowed me to keep my creative juices flowing, get me out of the house a couple days a week to meet new people and also make some new friends. The one thing that brings me the most joy is to see young and old come into my booth and watch the smiles come across their faces as they appreciate the fun designs of my decorated sugar cookies.
If you ever see me out and about at an event or farmers market, be sure to stop in and say “Hi”!

Created by Cassie

My name is Cassie Hull and I am the crafter behind “Created by Cassie.” I have been a paper crafter for a long time, but it used to just make things for myself. I have always loved to send personal greetings through the mail, because who doesn’t love to get mail that isn’t bills or junk mail?!? In the Spring of 2020, during the stay at home order, I found myself with a lot of spare time. Knowing that it was a difficult time for many people, I started creating more greeting cards and then I mailed one out every single day to encourage someone I knew. My interest in creating these greeting cards during my newfound spare time outpaced the mailing of cards. Within the following year, a few people I knew that had been recipients of my cards inquired about buying some of them. With that, “Created by Cassie” was born as a very small side business. By 2022, my stash of homemade greeting cards was overflowing, and I decided to start selling at craft fairs each year in the fall. In addition to selling greeting cards at my table, I also make and sell other paper-crafted trinkets such as goodie boxes or bags and things that are great for gift-giving. I am a local Carmel resident, and this will be my 4th year selling cards and other paper-crafted items at St. Mark’s.

Magical Arts and Crafts

Magical Arts and Crafts was established approximately 25 years ago. Initially, I focused on producing the “Flower Petal Dancer” card line and “Glamorous Shoe” cards, utilizing watercolor techniques and decorative elements. These were marketed to boutiques in Southern Indiana and Louisville, KY. Subsequently, the product line expanded to include one thousand watercolor Snowpeople cards. Most recently, in 2021, I introduced the “Winter’s Blessings” Snowpeople project, with an initial production of approximately twenty Snowpeople, some of which were given as Christmas gifts. Over the last few years, more and more were added to that number. Last year, production increased to 120 of these ‘one-of-a-kind’ little Snowpeople, and last year I participated in my first craft show with the help of my daughter. Imagine shopping and designing each of their looks!
The creation and sharing of each magical Snowperson continue to warm my heart and be a rewarding endeavor.

Birdseed Wreaths

Last November  I got started making birdseed wreaths because a of vacation of mine got canceled and I needed to fill my time with something to do for the week, I had the recipe so I thought I would start giving it a shot. People from work and friends started buying them from me and so…. The Seeded Wreath was formed.
I make eco-friendly birdseed wreaths from scratch at my house. I make small and large wreaths.  You can put different ribbons on them depending on the time of year.

Knit & Crochet items

I began knitting and crocheting over 60 years ago.  I enjoy creating items to give to people when they are having a baby, moving into a new home, dealing with chemo, or need a lap robe or prayer shawl.  We also make hats and scarves for the homeless.
I starting teaching crafts in 2020, after covid, to the residents in a medicaid assisted living facility.  That opened the door to ‘easy to make’ items that I could teach.

Wooden Bowls

I’ve been a woodworker for a long time, but mostly in the last 10 years since retirement.  My focus has been on wood turning although I do other woodworking projects from time to time. I’m known for turning thin natural/bark edge bowls.

Greetings from Indysuz

I started making postcards when our daughter went to college in 2018. I couldn’t find any cards I liked so Greetings from Indysuz was born.  All the cards are one of a kind.  Each card is a signed piece of original art. Most backgrounds are printed using a gel plate and acrylic paint.  I hand carve most of the stamps you see and print the message letter by letter. I always try to have a wide variety of cards including birthday wishes, thank you cards and encouraging messages.  At the St Marks show I will have holiday cards.  I also love to make cards featuring birds and nature. Postcards are a quick and easy way of staying in touch with friends and family. My motto is “Send mail. Make friends.”

Sue’s Creative Gifts

Several years ago I started watching YouTube videos where I found an artistic form I thought I would enjoy. It is called Fluid Art or Pour Painting.  I discovered I could use the drippings from my paintings to create jewelry. That was my beginning. Later I took an online course taught by Shelee Carruthers from Australia. I learned so much. I started making beautiful coasters and trivets with the “bloom technique” I had learned online. Each piece is unique!

I named my business Sue’s Creative Gifts. I still enjoy painting but I am always looking for more ideas of gifts I can create. Recently I have started working with resin and mica powders which I use to decorate vases and wine glasses.

I hope to meet you on Saturday, November 1st at St. Mark’s Arts and Crafts Fair!

Janet Mather

I have been knitting and crocheting for many years and enjoy sharing and selling my hand-made creations. I crochet kitchen towels to hang on the refrigerator and bathroom rods, dishcloths and scrubbies, baby blankets and baby hats, snowflake decorations for the Christmas Tree. I knit potholders, scarves, slippers , polyester bath mitts, soap bags, and scrubber cloths. A large selection of colors  of  these items will be available at St. Marks Art and Crafts Fair!

Corks and Bobbins

Corks and Bobbins is the creative partnership of Karin Polak and Karen McDonald, two makers who combined their talents to bring you unique handcrafted gift sets. Karin has been sewing since the age of five and built her embroidery business as Sew Cute by Karin, while Karen has long created handmade treasures through Wine Girl Creations, originally crafting for her real estate clients. In 2024, they teamed up to blend their passions—embroidery, sewing, and one-of-a-kind crafts—into beautifully curated gifts.

Every piece from Corks and Bobbins is designed with care, personality, and a touch of fun (often with a little wine inspiration). From embroidered keepsakes to custom-crafted sets, their creations are meant to be thoughtful, memorable, and full of charm. Together, Karin and Karen are turning years of experience into gifts that celebrate life’s special moments.
