Where Mission is a Way of Life
St. Mark’s…..Where Mission is a Way of Life

Those who call St. Mark’s home not only support the church by their prayers, presence, gifts and service, but also know that God calls us to witness our faith to others through our works. Therefore, we continually affirm that mission is our way of life.

St. Mark’s core values continue to be:
  • Hospitality – making room. We will welcome each person every day to sanctuary. We will welcome one another’s ideas, concerns, and personal creativity as potential ingredients for faith growth. The special place of children is a reflection of the desire to make room for one another. We will encourage healthy relationships that lead to faith growth.
  • Community – binding together. We are intentional about giving each person space to respond to Christ’s call. We will share the transitions of life as signposts of an eternal journey. We are intentional about our relation to our neighborhood, the metropolitan area, the whole world. We understand that our personal faith life is intimately related to our life together and therefore we will encourage participation in the ministries of fellowship.
  • Generosity – reaching beyond. We will encourage the sharing of resources for all who hurt: at home, at work, wherever. We understand that generosity and discipline are related and that fruitful discipleship is expressed through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, and our service.

While the Church Council is ultimately accountable as the governing body of St. Mark’s, a Strategic Visioning committee chaired by the Church Council chair is responsible for the monitoring and updating of the Strategic Vision process and plan.
